The Great Enemy

Sin consumes us like sand in high tide; no man can stop its surge, though some have tried to harness this power, the levees break destroying everything in its wake.

The man who seeks to harness sin’s power is a fool.  This man seeks to ride Lightning only to see Lightning is no horse, but is the great dragon of death.

Sin is a tsunami - its tidal wave crushing every man, woman, and child under its power and weight; no where to run, no where to hide, no way to stop this force.  There is only despair and weeping in the midst of destruction.

Where is the land that is free of this destruction?  What army can slay the dragon?  Where is the nation that has not consummated with sin?  Is there no refuge from this great plague?

Clichés are weird

Clichés are a funny thing; they lack the original thought, and are half truths that have become in most cases, just weird.  We hear them all the time presented as gospel truth.  Today I am going to focus on; a ‘test provides your testimony”, another version of this “every obstacle is a chance for you to grow your faith”

When we talk about the grandeur of Jesus, it is not about you but rather for you.  The tests you face are not about you passing them but that Jesus did.  The obstacles in your way are too big for you to overcome but Jesus overcame them.  All things are about the supremacy of Jesus Christ, for the glory of the Father, and for your greater good.

The testimony of Jesus is that of victory over sin, death, and the grave; yours is and always will be one of failure, apart from the testimony of Jesus’ victory. Through the victory and the testimony of His supremacy we can have faith that He is in control of all things.

1 Timothy 4:7 Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness.
